The system consists of three components: a rolling base (shower chair), a bridge, and a tub base. The rolling base functions like a wheelchair for smooth movement throughout the home and can also be used as a bedside commode or roll over most toilets for over-toilet use. Once toileting is complete, the rolling base connects to the tub base via the bridge, allowing the chair to slide safely over the tub lip or shower curb. After transferring into the tub or shower, the bridge and rolling base can be disconnected and removed to allow the shower curtain to close or to give caregivers better access. A custom bridge may be required depending on the distance between the toilet and tub.

For added safety, the TubBuddy SB2 includes a secondary locking mechanism that prevents the chair from rolling off the tracks. Standard features include a front-opening cushion, footrests, flip-back lockable and removable armrests, 5” lockable casters, a removable commode bucket with lid, chest belt, lap belt, and height adjustability.
